I remember listening to Stefania and Carl describe their wedding plans to us and thinking; wow if they can pull this off, it is going to be the most epic wedding ever! I mean, who doesn't love the idea of a getting married under an immense milk wood tree on the north coast of KZN followed by sundowners overlooking a north coast bay. Then a magical lantern-lit walk to a secluded clearing in a forest to have dinner by candlelight. And to end it all off, dancing under the stars.
The short story is they did it and it was as predicted, completely epic.
The pictures will tell a story of a beautiful bride on a perfect winters day in KwaZulu Natal, who wore her mother's veil and made her father cry. Jex Estate was the perfect "non venue" wedding venue, with paddocks of green grass, massive trees, rolling lawns down to the sea and endless indigenous forest. We loved being asked to keep it natural and letting the couple just be themselves for the creative shoot, and of course the antique chair brought from Nonna's home in Joburg; the ultimate photo prop!
It truly was a beautiful experience walking down a tunnel of trees with only lanterns showing us the way, to a clearing lit by candles and fairy lights. So beautifully decorated by Noreen and her team from Timeless Weddings. We ate amazing food by Olive Twist caterers and lit sparklers for the couple as they danced. It was the sort of storybook party we dreamed of as tutu wearing, fairy believing little girls, and no one wanted it to end.
This will be a wedding that is hard to beat, thank-you Stefania and Carl for inviting us to be a part of it, we simply loved the whole day and night.
