Every now and then photographers get a bit of a spoiling.
A styled shoot, without any of the pressures of a real wedding day, really gives everyone involved an opportunity to stretch their creative muscles and show off a bit. Everyone plays a part in creating a story that is both romantic and dreamy in a setting that is part blank canvass and part playful muse in sparking ideas for the story.
What started as a simple idea between ourselves and Kim from Kim White Weddings, grew into an afternoon of creative indulgence. Using a soon to be launched, but still very secret wedding venue in Salt Rock we wanted to show off the incredible talent working weddings here on the KZN North Coast.
Julia Ferrandi hand made this exquisite dress just for the shoot and it was worn perfectly by Claudia De Oliveira. Drawing only from local greenery Cindy from LoveLaugh tied in the natural setting with a sophisticated modern table setting. I just loved Kim’s attention to detail with all the décor, from the agate place names, gold-rimmed glasses and antique cutlery to the spectacular Macramé hanging at the altar. All lit up by Flickers & Dreams and my new favorite furniture store Beach House Furniture.
You can’t have a sophisticated setting without the food to match and I promise you Ros’s food from Olive Twist, tastes as good as it looks on these eclectic collections of platters and boards.
Of course, I am obsessed with Gin and what better way to serve it than from a bright orange Van! Chris and I want a wedding day do-over so we can have Guy from The Gin Tin there.
Last but certainly not least thanks to Andrea Jamieson and Melissa Marshall for the gorgeous hair and make-up.
I feel we can be confident that our mission was accomplished. Move over Cape Town, Durban and the Midlands; KZN North Coast is now the best destination for a wedding in South Africa.
PS standby for the video coming soon from Brand New Day Imaging.
